The central theme of the research carried out by our lab is to understand the basic concepts and unifying principles behind agroecosystems in order to understand how they function and how they can produce food efficiently and sustainably. Experiments are conducted at appropriate scales and under conditions that are realistic to farmers, environmentalists and decision makers.
Specific areas that members of our group are currently studying include: effects of climate change, carbon sequestration, nutrient cycling, fertilizer use efficiency, and water quality.
